Richard Thompson - President and CEO
Thompson was a co-founder and past president of LifeScan, a Johnson & Johnson Company, and is a former board member of TheraSense, the two most innovative companies in blood glucose monitoring in the last 25 years.In addition, Thompson was chairman, president and CEO of Aradigm, a specialty pharmaceuticals company pursuing pulmonary delivery of drugs. He currently serves on the board of directors of Intuity Medical and m2 medical, Inc.
Shonn Hendee, PhD - Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Hendee joined Luminous from InLight Solutions, where he was actively involved with the development of the technology platform licensed by Luminous. He has a PhD in biomedical engineering and an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering. Hendee has extensive program experience via the defense industry and has authored twelve patents.
William R. Patterson, Ph.D. - Vice President, Research & Development
Dr. Patterson has 15 years of medical device experience and 5 years of academic protein engineering experience. He has worked in R&D positions of increasing responsibility for companies such as Baxter Healthcare, TherOx, Micro Therapeutics, and ev3. Dr. Patterson has over 30 issued and pending US patents; and has developed many commercial medical devices used in the treatment of cardiovascular and neurovascular disease.
Jim Macemon - Vice President, Operations
Macemon has more than 30 years experience in medical instrumentation development and has held senior positions for such companies as Baxter Healthcare, Richardson-Vicks, and SpaceLabs Medical. Macemon was Vice President of R&D at VIA Medical, a company that successfully commercialized a revolutionary point-of-care blood glucose and blood gas patient monitor.
David McMahon - Vice President, Marketing
McMahon has over 13 years of experience in developing and commercializing innovative medical devices. Prior to joining Luminous, he was Director of Marketing at Alaris Medical Systems, a Cardinal Health company, developing IV infusion safety products. He also held senior marketing positions at Applied Medical, Inc., a developer of laparoscopic and cardiovascular surgical devices.
